Lessons from the Garden: June 2019 – Grow as they Will

As your babies grow, they will all be different.

Despite being given seemingly the same things, their path of growth will vary.

There will come a time when they will need their own individual space in order to become what they are meant to be.

And, although they are all the same species their individual determination and acceptance of what is around them will determine their end result.

All I can do is love them, sing to them and give them care the best way I know how.

It is up to them to do everything else!

And if they grow tall or stay small, if they live long or die early, if they bend or break, I will love them all the same because they chose to be born into this world with me.

In one very rough week of 2018 I lost my job and found out that I had aggressive breast cancer. Part of my healing path included documenting the lessons that I found in my garden when I was forced to slow down.
